Art Andersen assisted C.F. Møller Architects with the development of different potential concepts for dynamic solar screening of the new Maersk Tower in Copenhagen which is a 17 floor high-rise building.

The potential solar screening concepts were developed to full-scale mockups in authentic materials enabling the building owners, the contractors, the architects and the advisory consultants to choose the best possible concept.

Taking into consideration architecture, materials, functionality, outlook, transparency, environmental issues, energy, comfort, safety, durability, operational stability and costs.

The chosen folding shutter concept was developed into a fully functional and aesthetic mockup which was wind-tunnel and climate tested under the worst possible conditions in the most advanced test center in Europe.
