Ramboll has acquired Art Andersen, specialist in design of shutters, screening and façade solutions. The acquisition meets the growing market demand for components for sustainable buildings.
Ramboll press release – 4 December 2018.
With the acquisition of Art Andersen, Ramboll gains some quite unique, creative components within the development and manufacturing of dynamic shielding on building facades. These components control incoming light and views from the outside, reduce noise and improve energy efficiency.
This purchase of Art Andersen enhances Ramboll’s services within aesthetic and sustainable facades, and thus contributes to the broad range and quality of holistic solutions we provide for our clients in architecture as well as engineering design.
“Our clients increasingly ask for solutions that advance the goals of sustainable buildings, both in terms of energy efficiency as well providing comfortable inside environments, where daylight is welcomed in and unwanted noise is kept out. With the acquisition of Art Andersen, Ramboll will be able to provide even stronger facade solutions to meet this demand for functionality, as well as raising quality and architectural expression. We look forward to working with all of Art Andersen’s clients, and they will continue to receive the same good service and treatment, says Ib Enevoldsen, Managing Director, Ramboll Denmark.
Since its start in 1988, Art Andersen has been a creative and experimental design lab, and the company’s highly regarded expertise has contributed to the facades on striking new buildings in Copenhagen such as the UN City, the Maersk Tower and the Tivoli Corner. Art Andersen’s approach is well-known for being innovative with a focus on creating advanced products.
“We look forward to joining Ramboll, a company we know well – and with which we have successfully collaborated on a number of projects. Our good collaboration is largely because our values match, and our competencies complement each other’s, and not least because there are unlimitable synergies from combining Ramboll’s professional organisation and Art Andersen’s creative approach,” says Jørn Krab, Founder and Director, Art Andersen
Ramboll will officially take over Art Andersen as of 1 January 2019. The employees will move to Ramboll’s head office in Ørestad in Copenhagen during the second half of 2019. In the meantime, they will continue to be located at their Gl. Kongevej address.
